Our Spiritual Leader and Rabbi
Rabbi Eric H. Hoffman
Effective July 1, 2010, we are pleased to announce that Rabbi Eric H. Hoffman is the Rabbi and Spiritual Leader of the Fellowship. He also served as interim Rabbi from January 1-June 30, 2010.
Rabbi Hoffman has been a teacher and spiritual leader throughout the New York metropolitan area and Fairfield County in Connecticut since he moved here in 1988. Ordained at the Hebrew Union College—Jewish Institute of Religion in New York, Rabbi Hoffman has served congregations in Cleveland, Brooklyn, and Brookline, Massachusetts. He pursued additional studies in the Judaic department of the Hebrew University and in the Talmud department of the Jewish Theological Seminary in Jerusalem and completed the candidacy requirements for Ph.D. in Talmud at the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. For the past ten years Rabbi Hoffman has trained Rabbinical and Cantorial students at the Academy for Jewish Religion in New York. Throughout his career he has been at the forefront of the movement to reclaim the warmth of tradition and spirituality in Jewish worship and has followed a calling to make traditional Jewish texts immediately accessible to children and adults.
Our Spiritual History
Rabbi Emerita Emily Faust Korzenik
Until her retirement in 2004, our spiritual leader was Rabbi Emily Faust Korzenik, who took over the Fellowship pulpit in 1974 and ably led our group for 25 years. She remains a respected and beloved presence and serves as the Fellowship’s Rabbi Emerita.

During the years from her retirement to Rabbi Hoffman’s appointment, the Fellowship has been fortunate to be led by a number of scholars and teachers. For their leadership and commitment, the Fellowship recognizes Rabbi Howard Handler, Rabbi Phil Schechter and Rabbi Allison Berry.
Our Lay Leadership
While fortunate to have such strong spiritual leadership over the years, the Fellowship membership takes an active role in and responsibility for all the chavurah’s activities. The Board of Directors has governance and fiduciary responsibilities and a number of committees, including Hebrew School, Community Service, Membership, Publicity, Ritual, High Holidays, and InterFaith Council of Southwestern CT liaison, manage all other activities.
