JCC Annual Mitzvah Day

Sunday, October 16
1-3 pm

Just like there are many different types of mitzvot, there are many different ways to participate in this year’s mitzvah day. Some mitzvot connect us to each other, some mitzvot connect us to our environment, and some mitzvot connect us to G-d. Join us for a day of connection, caring and chesed.

Help End Local Hunger – Become a “Food Rescuer!”

Community Plates, a local non-profit dedicated to alleviating hunger in communities all across America, has a huge opportunity – if it can increase its volunteer base. You can help. If  you have a set of wheels (SUV’s work best) and an hour a week, you can help transform the face of hunger.

This week Fairway Market in Stamford agreed to donate food – massive amounts of it – to Community Plates. But they need food runners to get that food to local shelters and pantries. And they need to do it reliably.

If you can help, please contact Kevin Mullins. He’ll be in touch and send you the info you need, including location, instructions and contact information.
